This is a summary of an episode performed during Improvised Star Trek's initial live run at iO Chicago from October 17, 2009 through May 8, 2010. The adventures continue wherever you listen to podcasts.

The USS Sisyphus is en route to planet Derex-Derex when Lt. Lady Cola announces she has created a new form of life in the replicator. The Computer admits to helping Lady break the laws of science to make the new pet, which she hopes the whole crew can take care of together. The aggressive, spiny, furry, feathery fluke of science, soon dubbed Poopsie, is a hit with most of the crew, especially Lt. Fritz Fassbinder, who is reminded him of his own childhood pet, Fritz Fassbinder the Dog. Unfortunately, it turns out Poopsie's bites cause dramatic mutations, with new Poopsies growing out of bitewounds on Lt. Cola, Captain Baxter, Cmdr Hayes, and Ensign Lorem.

When Lt Cmdr Watson pushes to kill and analyze Poopsie Lt. Fassbinder releases him into the Jefferies tubes to escape. As the crews' mutations worsen a reluctant Lt. Cola is forced to lead a search party(in Starfleet/Might Ducks Flying V formation) to find and kill the creature. The search eventually leads to the haunted Deck 13, where Lt. Fassbinder again intervenes to save Poopsie, and a frustrated Captain Baxter convinces the computer to create a predator perfectly suited to hunting Poopsie down. The result is a catlike creature with a unhinged snake jaw which appears and dispatches Poopsie handily, but the perfect predator is likewise soon loose on the ship.

Upon arriving at Derex-Derex the Sisyphus crew discovers that they have been sent by Starfleet to answer an add for free puppies. They are warned as they beam the pups aboard that Derex-derexian dogs are large, acid-breathing, and possess a ravenous appetite. Luckily, their preferred diet is Snakecats, similar to the ships' perfect predators, so the crew releases the alien dogs on Deck 13 for their trip to the nearest starbase. It's the circle of life.
